Every year when Rides and Vibes comes around, I remember that it’s already April, and that it should be relatively cool. But EVERY year on the day of the event, its a scorcher. This year was no exception. So I instead of sitting in traffic in the heat, I decided to grab some lunch down the road and wait it out a little. But it was still just as hot on the field as it was earlier in the day, because now I was surrounded by heaps pf epic cars.
Over the years, Rides and Vibes has come so far and the quality of cars really does increase every year. The guys over at BoostSA have refined the event well and it has become one of the more major events on the calendar.
If there was one car on the day that people were talking about, it was Flippie’s Static EK Honda Civic. Flippie is known for his epic static fitment and lately, his choice of paint. Before Rides and Vibes, the car was sprayed in a matte Tiffany Blue and ran some wide Equip wheels. Now, Flippie has ditched both for a deep gloss brown lick of paint and some gold chrome BBS RS reps. The combo actually works well together and while not everyone likes it, we think it works and we will be re-featuring it in the near future so keep your eyes peeled for that.
As in the past we teamed up with our homies from SD Studios for a crazy video – They never disapoint
The rest of the Capestance display was great as usual with the usual suspects on display. Matthew’s Mk1 came through with his new OZ Turbo wheels and some fantastic fitment.
Resistance also came through with some really awesome cars, with Adrian’s 3 Series BMW Wagon being the showstopper. Nithaam from Mainstream in PE also came through and made the drive down from PE, and we always love seeing his RunX!
I didn’t stay for long at RnV and didn’t manage to get a shot of everyones cars unfortunately. But now I will let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!
